1. Height Adjustment
This is one of the most common errors that people make. The walkers should be adjusted in such a way that it reduces the stress on the shoulders and the back. However, in order to do it, you need to get the height adjustment feature of the walker right
The shoulders should be relaxed while the arms are at the grips of the walkers. The arms should also be quite relaxed and at a comfortable angle. It is best to have a 15-degree angle approximately for the best walking experience with a walker.

To know how to use a walker properly, you first need to understand how to stand in one. Make sure you note and practice the following points to ensure proper use of a walker -
- Step inside the walker and check your wrist height and elbow bend - while keeping the shoulders and arms relaxed and the back straight, the walker's grip shall align with creases of your palm, and the elbow should be at a 15-degree angle.
- Do not stand too far or too close to the walker. For the first step, move the walker half-a-step ahead and step ahead with the injured leg first.
- For the next step, put your other(good) leg slightly ahead of the injured one.
- Repeat the above steps until you're familiar with them, and you can gradually increase the length of your steps.
- Please keep your back straight and never lean in or out of the walker.

How to use a rollator?
To properly walk with a rollator, follow these steps:

- Walk normally and with even steps. It is safest to put most of your weight on your legs, but keep your hands on the handles and use the rollator for support when needed.
- Use the brakes to keep the rollator close to you and moving at a steady pace.
- To turn, take small steps to pivot your body, keeping the walker in front of you. The walker will turn with you. For tighter turns, engage the brakes on only one side. For example, when making a right turn, engage the right brake with the left break off.
Do NOT use a rollator to go up or downstairs.
To properly sit on your rollator, follow these steps:
- Push down the brake levers to lock the breaks. This will ensure your safety, so the rollator does not roll out from under you.
- With your back to the chair and legs close to the seat, balance yourself with your hands on both handles or both sides of the seat.
- Gently and slowly sit down. To maintain control, avoid sitting with too much force or too quickly.
- Make sure the brakes are still locked.
- Scoot to the edge of the seat and plant your feet directly and firmly under you.
- Lean forward, grabbing the handles or seat to keep balanced and help yourself transfer the weight from your bottom to your feet.
- Slowly turn around and centre yourself between the rollator's rear wheels. When you feel balanced, you can unlock the brakes and start walking.
